About this app

Digest Daily lets you curate a personalized daily digest by selecting topics of interest. The app automatically compiles and delivers a summary each morning at 08:00, pulling the latest content from your chosen topics. You can also trigger an immediate digest run at any time using the 'Run now' button. View your current subscription settings, update your topic preferences, and browse your digest history anytime. Perfect for staying informed without information overload.

How to use

Navigate to subscription settings
Open the app and go to the subscription page to view your current topic selections.
Select your topics
Choose the topics you want included in your daily digest. Your preferences are saved automatically.
Trigger a digest run
Click the 'Run now' button to immediately generate a digest based on your current topic selection.
Wait for digest generation
The digest job is enqueued and typically completes within 5 seconds. A new digest record will appear in your account.
Read your latest digest
Navigate to the digest page to view the compiled summary of your selected topics.
Browse digest history
Visit the digests list page to see all previously generated digests, sorted by date.
Automatic daily delivery
A new digest is automatically generated every day at 08:00 based on your subscription topics.

Demo data

On first use, no topics are selected by default. Create a subscription by selecting topics via the PUT /subscription endpoint. The 'Run now' button will enqueue a digest job that creates a digest record within 5 seconds. Daily digests are automatically generated at 08:00 via BullMQ repeatable job.

Privacy

The app stores user_id (text), topics (text array), created_at (timestamp), and updated_at (timestamp) in the subscriptions table. Digests are stored with id (uuid), user_id (text), topics (text array), body (text), source (text), and created_at (timestamp). All data is retained indefinitely unless manually deleted by the user.
